About Christina

Christina Collins, M.A., LMFT

I am licensed to practice Marriage and Family Therapy in the states of Arizona and California. I’m experienced in working with children, adolescents, adults, couples, parents, and families through agencies, in schools, and in private practice. Much of my pre-licensure training was providing counseling to teens and working with their parents collaboratively in a school setting. I completed my undergraduate (Bachelors of Arts in Adult and Adolescent Psychology) and graduate work (Master of Arts in Counseling; dual emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Counseling) at Saint Mary's College of California. Balancing a career as Division 1 student-athlete (in Volleyball) and academics, I have gained both understanding and life experience that allows me to help adolescents/ young adults in coping with the heavy demands of school, life, and extracirriculars.

I love working clinically in private practice to support adolesents, young adults, adults, and families in living high-quality, fulfilling lives. The world of psychology is never dull, and exploring clients’ greatest trials and triumphs provides immensely meaningful work. I’m grateful to be able to work closely and genuinely with others as they continue their stories.

Utilizing primarily Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and a Rogerian approach, I aim to adapt my style to honor the current needs and goals of each client.

Being intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (through the Portland DBT Institute), I provide an evidence-based, highly structured array of interventions that address factors interfering with life quality and replace ineffective styles of thinking and behaviors with more skillful ones.

I have a certificate in Nutritional Psychology (from John F. Kennedy University) and am passionate about working with clients to improve their lives and emotional well-being through nutrition and self-care.
